The Nanzenji Temple (南禅寺)
This temple located at the end of Kyoto's Higashiyama mountains. The Nanzenji Temple is one of the most important zen temples in Japan! The Nanzenji Temple is part of a big "complex". It has "subtemples" all around it. This zen temple dates back to the 13 hundreds. In this picture above, that is a rock garden which the Nanzenji Temple is famous for as well as being know for zen.
This is the Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion)
Kinkakuji (金閣寺, Golden Pavilion) This zen temple is located in Northern Kyoto! Its two top floors are covered completely in gold! This zen temple is over looking a large pond and this temple, throughout history has been burnt down many times.
The Kiyomizudera Temple
Kiyomizudera (清水寺, "Pure Water Temple") is located in the Eastern part of Japan. It was founded in 780 and Kiyomizudera is known for its wooden stage the comes out of the main hall , 13 meters above the hill side. Which gives the visitors to the temple a really nice view of the Maple and Cherry Blossom trees.
